JONNY FRITZ + JOSHUA HEDLEY and introducing CHRIS ACKER LIVE AT MIXTAPE
Love Police are thrilled to announce the return of two of Nashville’s most beloved country storytellers —JONNY FRITZ and JOSHUA HEDLEY— for a run of special Australian shows in January 2026, joined by their good friend and kindred spirit CHRIS ACKER.
It’s been a few years between drinks, but the wait is over. Fritz and Hedley are heading back to Oz to share new songs, old favourites, and plenty of good times, performing music from their brand-new albums alongside the country gold that’s earned them fans from Austin to Adelaide.
Jonny Fritz remains country music’s most charming outsider. Once known as Jonny Corndawg, Fritz has carved his own path as a songwriter of rare wit and warmth, blending humour and heartbreak in a way only he can. His latest songs on new album Debbie Downers (released October 2025), are full of crooked truths and plainspoken poetry, continue his legacy as one of Nashville’s great eccentrics — and a live performer like no other.
Joshua Hedley — the rhinestone-clad “Mayor of Lower Broadway” — first stole hearts with his stunning debut Mr. Jukebox (Third Man Records), followed by the sharp and swaggering Neon Blue. His new album All Heart continues to dig deep into the heart of classic country, all velvet tones, weeping pedal steel and honky tonk melancholy delivered with that unmistakable Hedley polish.
Rounding out the bill is Louisiana-born, Seattle-based Chris Acker, whose rambling, narrative-driven songs echo the spirit of Townes Van Zandt and John Prine while carving out a voice all his own. His presence on this introductory tour is the perfect complement to two artists who prize honesty, humour and heart above all.
Together, the trio promise an unforgettable evening of songs and stories, performed by three of Americana’s most authentic voices. Expect heartbreakers and two-steppers, banter and brilliance — a triple threat tour of the summer featuring three starts for 5 star night out that will remind you exactly why you fell in love with country music in the first place.

Adam Young and the Down Main + Copperline Live at Mixtape
Strap yourselves in for an evening of heart-on-the sleeve stories and songs from two of Sydney’s finest purveyors of alt-country.
Copperline
Take some disarmingly honest storytelling, flavour it with generous lashings of twang and gritty rock and you get Copperline. The Sydney/Blue Mountains alt-country four-piece have lived and breathed the highs and lows of the rock and low life – and that experience can’t help but find its way into their music.
With two records under their belt, and a third on the way (all produced by Shane Nicholson) Copperline have earned a reputation for their heart-on-sleeve songwriting and live performances – and have picked up a swag of award nominations, radio spins and festival slots along the way.
Adam Young and The Down Main
Having spent several years in successful indie rock acts such as the Daisygrinders and Big Heavy Stuff, Adam Young has had his songs covered by the likes of You Am I and The Lemonheads. This would be enough to make any musician retire happily.
But it his solo work with which Adam will truly leave his mark.
His debut solo album, Elementary Carnival Blues, features 10 tracks of real alternative country and we believe that it easily stands beside the best work from Wilco, the Jayhawks, Uncle Tupelo and other legends of the genre. But Adam hasn’t left his roots behind either. Imagine if Gram Parsons had fronted early REM or Steve Earle got together with Buffalo Tom.

THE VORS + THE MACGUFFINS
THE VORS make noise with guitars. Is it rock? Sure. Is it indie? Maybe. Is it music? Most of the
time. It’s fast, it’s loud, it’s got melodies that sneak up on you and riffs that hit like a half-brick in a
sock. Don’t overthink it — they don’t.
Formed somewhere near Bondi after too much sun and not enough supervision, THE VORS
emerged fully formed, like a bad idea that worked out way too well. They sound like the smell of
burnt toast, coconut sunscreen, and broken promises. No one’s really sure how they got here, least
of all them. But they do know one thing…they don’t play music — they unleash it, like a possum in
a bin.
Peter Martignago hits the drums like they owe him money. Ed Heerey keeps the low end tight.
Davor Pavlovic and Chris Franklin trade riffs and vocals like two old drunks in a bar fight.
THE VORS: like getting tackled by a friend you didn’t know you had. Twice!

OFRI + BILLY MAY LIVE AT MIXTAPE - JOINT HEADLINE
Joint headline show!!
A dose of ‘00s singer-songwriter–inspired realness
Billy May is a singer-songwriter based in Eora/Sydney who has been compared to Jeff Buckley, Big Thief and Fiona Apple. Having spent the last few years playing guitar for some of Sydney’s finest acts including Maia Toakley, Mannequin Radio, Ned Olive, such big water, Bonetwister and Emerald, he decided to embark on a solo music journey. He has since released two singles ‘Billy Day’ and ‘Last Year’ to positive reception and radio play, as well as doing single launches in Sydney and Brisbane. His debut EP ‘…to Friendship’ will be released independently in September 2025.
Ofri is a singer-songwriter whose unashamedly candid lyrics and intricate piano-vocal arrangements form a particular (and peculiar) brand of chamber folk. Inspired by legends of alternative songwriting such as Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor and Sufjan Stevens, Ofri's performances with her horn-woodwind-rhythm combo dance dynamically between genres, with pop, jazz and folk fabrics sewn together by her distinctive and disarming style. Perhaps even more immediately noticeable than her frankness is her voice, a wild thing which can inhabit every colour of expression — from raw emotionality to heartfelt subtlety, with every shade in-between. Her debut album “That Heavy Magnetism” (2024) was described by AAA Backstage as “a must-listen … a rich, musical experience that’s as thought-provoking as it is mesmerising”.

INFINITY BROKE + THE ELECTORATE LIVE AT MIXTAPE
Coming off the back of their recent east coast tour in support of their fourth album This Masthead, Infinity Broke play a rare free entry show at Mixtape on Fri July 25th. Fronted by prolific songwriter and producer, Jamie Hutchings (Bluebottle Kiss, Solo, The Tall Grass) on guitar and vocals, alongside Scott Hutchings (Drums/Guitar), Reuben Wills (Bass) and new member aux-drummer-percussionist Tyrone Stevens, This Masthead explores a collaborative approach to songwriting with half the album’s tracks finding their origins in group improvisation.
‘Infinity Broke's sound is created and enhanced by the two drum attack and guitar playing that defies all conventions, reminding me of the late great Rowland S Howard at times. 'This Masthead' is evidence of a band that is willing to explore and innovate and create something that evokes a huge range of emotions across its nine searing tracks. ‘- Backseat Mafia
Catch this seasoned quartet’s intoxicating brew of percussive flavoured noise, repetition, atmosphere and melody at Mixtape on Fri June 25th.

GENA STONE LIVE AT MIXTAPE
For Gena Stone, songwriting is an act of discovery - lyrics born from scribbled fragments that reveal their true meaning over time. Dancing between dream-pop and indie-rock influences, Stone shapes a sonic world of textured guitars, smooth vocals, and shimmering synths that feels entirely her own.
Released on April 11, her latest single, ‘Silhouette’, signals the start of a bold new chapter. The track delves into intrusive thoughts as shadowy figures that stir doubt and insecurity. At its core, ‘Silhouette’ is about reclaiming confidence, quieting the noise, and trusting in your own magic.
Stone's live shows shift between dreamy textures and vibrant, energetic moments - balancing emotional depth with irresistible energy that invites the crowd in.
SOYBOY LIVE AT MIXTAPE
Emerging from the stormy shores of Muloobinba/Newcastle, Soyboy presents a unique blend of post-punk, art-rock and synth-pop. With the power of vibrant sax licks combined with the mania induced from staring at the sun for too long, catching a Soyboy show is much like witnessing an eclipse for the first time: unforgettable.
Known for their chaotic sound produced by the 5 piece; Zack John on Saxophone, William Middleton on Keys/Vox, Eli Croft on Guitar, Cupar Ross on Drums and Jade Gallogly on Bass/Vox.
‘Find it hard to describe Soyboy to people without falling into wild scenerios like "What if Black Country, New Road and LCD Soundsystem had a baby" or even "Imagine My Chemical Romance swapped their guitars for synths and wanted to make you dance"
- Spencer Scott, Triple J Unearthed Review
